As part of the ESRC Festival of Social Sciences Dr Kate Taylor-Jones from SEAS and her colleague Dr Amy Chambers from Newcastle University and leading an interactive talk exploring the history of Japanese science fiction with short film clips and discussion. Japanese cinema has long been preoccupied with visions of the future. This event will discuss the history of Japanese science fiction and how cinema has become one of the most influential spaces for science fiction and fantasy.
