Welcome to the Sheffield Professionals webpages

This is where you can find information and resources relating to the Sheffield Professional initiative.

"At a time of challenge and opportunity, we are committed to developing the creativity and talents of all staff, and determined that professional staff at Sheffield play a key role in developing our ambitions and making them happen. The initiative will mean that together we will help make our University a more ambitious, innovative and effective environment – for world-class research, for outstanding student experience, and for impact which changes lives."

A key aim of the initiative is to improve links between different departments and encourage our professional staff to work across boundaries. Since commencing this project we have:

  • Held Events to enable professional staff from across the University to meet senior staff and network with each other.
  • Developed The Sheffield Professional framework, a set of behaviours that we feel all our staff need to exhibit and which we see as being applicable and transferable across the entire University.
  • Developed guidance to help staff take responsibility for developing their skills and experiences and through that, their careers.
  • Introduced a new secondments page where you can view and apply for secondment opportunities within other parts of the University.
