SCIBS members and students nominated and shortlisted for this year's Academic Awards

The annual Academic Awards, run by the Students' Union, celebrates those who have enhanced Academic Life at the University of Sheffield to create an excellent educational experience for all our students.

Congratulations to our SCIBS members and students nominated and shortlisted for the Academic Awards 2017!

The annual Academic Awards, run by the Students' Union, celebrates those who have enhanced Academic Life at the University of Sheffield to create an excellent educational experience for all our students.

Students nominate people for these awards, which are then presented during a ceremony. The Awards evening will take place on Thursday 18th May, and six SCIBS members were recognised.

Categories where SCIBS staff and students were nominated were:

  • Best Personal Tutor: Dr Katie Edwards
  • Outstanding Teaching Award: Dr Meredith Warren
  • Outstanding Feedback Award: Dr Minna Shkul
  • Best Academic Mentor: Dr Katie Edwards
  • Best Postgraduate Supervisor: Dr Katie Edwards
  • Best Postgraduate Student who Teaches Award: Jo Henderson-Merrygold

There were also four categories in which SCIBS staff and students were shortlisted:

  • Innovation in Digital Teaching Award: Emma Nagouse
  • Liberation and Diversity Award: Dr Minna Shkul
  • Employability Award: Dr Amber Regis
  • Innovation in Digital Teaching Award: Dr Casey Strine
