Improving students’ statistical learning.
Launching myQuiz, a new web-based interactive quiz tool to support students with their statistical learning
Created by Adam Whitworth from the Department of Geography with support from the Faculty of Social Sciences and the SMI, this new interactive tool has been designed to help students with their statistical training, regardless of discipline.
The new learning tool will be showcased at a launch on 11th November at 1pm at ICOSS Conference room.
Adam Whitworth said:
"In this session, we'll demonstrate a tool that's been developed with university funds to aid with students' statistical learning. The tool combines information to reinforce material from their courses in quantitative methods, regardless of discipline, and quizzes which present students with an informal setting in which to test their existing knowledge and skills.
The tool already contains a large number of detailed quizzes on the different statistical topics that students in the social sciences are likely to encounter, and it also presents a framework through which these can be expanded for particular staff needs. This session will therefore demonstrate the existing content and the flexibility of the tool, and will show how it can be used across the faculty and beyond."
The launch event is open to all across the University, and will last for an hour, with time for questions and answers after.
