I am currently a PhD student in the Wellcome Trust Doctoral Training Centre in Public Health and Economic Decision Science. My PhD focuses in understanding the socioeconomic inequalities of life expectancy and adult mortality in Chile in the last decade.
I graduated as a physician and I practiced as a general practitioner for one year before starting graduate studies. I studied a Master in Public Policy and a Master in Public Health at the University of Chile. After completing that training I studied Biostatistics at the same University. I have received further training in Econometrics and Decision Modeling during recent years.
Since 2014 I have been working as a researcher and lecturer in the School of Public Health in the University of Chile. During this period I have been involved in several research and consulting projects covering many topics. The most relevant are:
- Analysis of socioeconomic inequalities on the incidence of chronic diseases in Chile using longitudinal data
- Cost effectiveness analysis of colorectal cancer in Chile
- Analysis of cost of disease in Chile using the System of Health Account methodology
- The role of fiscal policy in the improvement of diets and prevention of non communicable diseases in Chile: impact evaluation and modeling
