I joined the University of Sheffield in 2009 after working for nine years as a lecturer at the Universities of Nottingham and Leeds. Between 1998 and 2000 I was a research assistant in the Institute of Health Studies at the University of Hull. My nursing background is in acute medicine and cardiology.
My research interests are partnerships in care, nursing roles and inequalities in health.
My teaching interests are social policy – particularly health policy, inequalities in health, partnership working, evidence based practice, research methods, primary care nursing, and long term conditions.
I am a reviewer for a number of academic journals. I am a member of the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust´s Evidence Based Council.
