Profile

I first joined the University in 2004 and worked as a Research Associate/Survivor Researcher in ScHARR and in the Institute of General Practice & Primary Care for 9 years. Prior to that I worked in the Voluntary sector in mental health, mediation and for Disabled People’s User Led Organisations (DPULOs).

Research interests

I am a qualitative researcher, drawing on feminist, participatory and emancipatory approaches. I am passionate about involvement/co-production and as a long-term user of H&SC services I bring this perspective to my work. I have significant expertise in advising on issues related to involvement/co-production in service delivery, research and other settings, and have assisted with the development, implementation and evaluation of involvement for a variety of organisations.

I am currently undertaking a part time PhD on Patient and carer involvement in palliative care research, having been awarded a scholarship jointly funded by the Division of Nursing & Midwifery and the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry & Health.
