Thea Williams (she/her)

Thea joined the Department in January 2023 as a Social Work Practice Consultant. She qualified as a Social Worker from the University of Sheffield in 2005. She spent several years working in a voluntary sector substance use service before joining Sheffield City Council in 2008. Within the Local Authority, Thea worked as Specialist Social Worker supporting adults affected by hepatitis C and those with a co-infection of HIV. Her main areas of practice interest have been working with adults experiencing problematic substance use, homelessness, self-neglect and multiple disadvantages. 

Thea is a Practice Educator and has supported multiple social work BA, MA and apprenticeship students. She has a long standing interest in social work education.
