Lasting impressions: memory, objects and baby-loss
We are very pleased to be hosting a special workshop in Sheffield on the 12 November 2016 called ‘Lasting Impressions’.
The event is supported by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) as part of this year’s Festival of Social Sciences. The workshop is open to anyone who has experienced the loss of a baby and participants have been asked to bring memory objects with them to share with a small group.
During the workshop there will be the opportunity for participants to create an ‘impression’ of their items and to make sound recordings for inclusion in a forthcoming ‘End of or Start of Life’ project exhibition (to be held in Sheffield and London on November 2017).
The workshop is a collaboration between the research team and visual artist Hugh Turvey. We will also be joined by sound artist Justin Wiggan. To read more about the workshop, please take a look at our department’s news webpages here.
