Introduction from the Head of Department

On behalf of everyone in Sociological Studies, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department and to wish you a happy and productive time with us.

The aim of this handbook is to provide you with the key information you need to be successful in your studies. It is intended to be the first point of reference should you have any questions or concerns. It is a working document though; we will update it as information changes, and we can make additions if there are things that you think are missing.

Please do let us know what you think about your programme, and your time with the Department. We are always keen to hear from you, and you’ll be offered numerous ways of feeding back to us. This includes emailing me directly, whenever you should need to.

Professor Nathan Hughes, Head of Department
