Student Support and Guidance

The Student Support and Guidance section within the Student Services Department comprises:

Financial Support Team

The Financial Support Team are responsible for administering a range of schemes which support undergraduate, postgraduate and international students at the University of Sheffield. They also provide information and guidance on applying for funding and managing money.

International Student Support

The International Student Support Team provide information and support to new and current students including:

  • Immigration Advice
  • Induction and Orientation
  • Meet and Greet Scheme
  • Ongoing support with transitions and culture shock
  • Social events and activities
  • Visa Extension Scheme

Student Transitions and Support

The Student Transitions and Support team provide support, information and guidance with a particular focus on mature, commuter and under-represented groups. The team also develop and deliver induction, transition and retention initiatives for students.

Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Service

The Multi-Faith University Chaplains are available to everyone within the University to provide care, support and pastoral counselling. The Chaplains work together as a team in co-operation with Student Services.

The section offers a variety of student support including the following issues:
