All students have an opportunity to mix and live with others from completely different backgrounds when coming to university. This may be the only time in your life that you can really get to see how others live.
The experience is mostly always positive. However, religious students and/or those from religious homes are sometimes surprised by some of the issues raised when sharing accommodation with those from very different backgrounds.
In the links to the left are some issues raised by students who lived in University housing. We are making their comments and views available to you to help you:
  • decide which kind of accommodation might suit you best
  • prepare for the things which surprised others;
  • think about how you will deal with some of the challenges you might face
  • seek advice from those who have survived and enjoyed the experience before you!!
