Making Reasonable Adjustments
If you have a disability and require adjustments when you visit UCS, this page will explain how to inform us and what we can do.
University Counselling Service has an accessible entrance to the rear of the building from Wilkinson Lane. We have a ground-floor counselling room which can be used for clients with mobility requirements. If this is something you would like to check in advance please send us an send us an email before your appointment to UCS@sheffield.ac.uk or call our Reception team on 0114 222 4134.
There are also two disabled parking spaces at the rear of the building which require a valid disabled permit (we do not provide these and we do not manage our car parks).
Arranging an appointment
If the nature of your disability means you have difficulty coming into the service or you have any additional support needs, alternative arrangements can be made.
Prior to your triage assessment, you will be asked if you have any extra support needs or accessibility requirements.
This information will be saved on your UCS record if you continue for further ongoing counselling.

Interpretation Queries for Disability or International Students
If you require a British Sign Language Interpreter please send us an email before your appointment on UCS@sheffield.ac.uk.
Our counselling sessions are in English (only). Please do not worry if your English speaking skills are not perfect - our counsellors are experienced in understanding clients in many different ways.
