Global Campus

Living away from home and being a part of an international student community can be exciting, and is full of opportunities to learn new things and meet new people. But it can also be challenging, and it's not always easy to know how to make the most of the experience.

Global Campus is a series of events and workshops that will help you to settle into life here and gain as much as possible from your experience at The University of Sheffield.

Events

Keep in touch with Global Campus on Facebook and Twitter for details of upcoming events.

Global Café

Global Café is your weekly chance to relax and meet new people from all around the world. For UK students you can get a flavour of our global campus without leaving home. For international students it's also a good opportunity to practise your social English.

Culture Compass

Students from all around the world come together to discuss culture in an informal setting. For international students it's a way of gaining a greater understanding of British culture. If you're from the UK you might be surprised what insights you can gain about your own culture by explaining it to others!

Local History Walks

Local History Walks are a great way to find out more about our city and the people who have helped to shape it. At the same time they are a regular opportunity to meet new people while increasing your sense of belonging to Sheffield.

Global Conversation

A chance to practise your English in a quiet, relaxed setting and learn some new British phrases, idioms and slang.

Vacation Programme

Staying in Sheffield over a vacation period? You're not alone, and we run an awesome programme of social events to keep you entertained during the holidays!

You can come along on your own or with friends or family - either way it's a fantastic chance to meet some new people and see a bit more of Sheffield while taking a break from assignments and revision!

HOST UK

HOST UK’s purpose is to enable international students at British universities and colleges to be invited as a guest for a weekend or a day to a British home. This will give your the opportunity to experience British culture at first-hand and is highly recommended by previous participants.

The University of Sheffield will fund 50% of the application fee for your first visit using HOST UK. Book your place here.

Global Campus Photo Competition

Our 2016 photo competition is open for entries. First prize is a GoPro camera with 2 runners up prizes of £75 in Amazon vouchers
