University of Sheffield Global Campus runs a programme of social activities every Christmas and Easter vacation for students who stay in Sheffield over the holidays. Meet up with friends, or just come on your own and meet new people! Our Global Campus Ambassadors will be at all the events to help introduce people to each other, so don't be afraid to show up on your own

Easter Vacation 2020

Update on Easter Vacation Activities during Coronavirus Outbreak

The University is treating the Covid-19 outbreak as a major incident. Our top priority is always the health and safety of students, staff and those who make up our wider community across the globe.

Unfortunately, due to the situation, we are unable to run Global Campus activities during Easter Vacation 2020.

Our students wellbeing is our top priority and as a result, we have taken the decision to suspend all Global Campus activities in line with Univeristy guidance.

If you have any concerns regarding the coronavirus (Covid-19) please contact support@sheffield.ac.uk. If you would like more information on support provided by Global Campus during the vacation period, please contact globalcampus@sheffield.ac.uk.

Global Hangouts

We understand that the Easter vacation is a time when international students can feel isolated and at a distance from friends and family, never more so than at this difficult time. As we have had to cancel our usual vacation activities the International Student Support team would like to offer students the chance to join Google Hangout Meet sessions hosted by members of the team where you will have the opportunity both for informal chat and to let us know about any particular concerns you may have.

Please note that the staff members are unlikely to be in a position to help with specific questions, for example about immigration matters, but will be able to signpost you to the best place to get help. For technical reasons the sessions will be limited to 15 students and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Sessions will take place as follows

  • Wedensday 1st April - 12:00-13:00
  • Friday 3rd April - 12:00-13:00
  • Monday 6th April, 12:00-13:00
  • Wednesday 8th April, 12:00-13:00
  • Wednesday 15th April, 12:00-13:00
  • Friday 17th April, 12:00-13:00
  • Monday 20th April, 12:00-13:00
  • Wednesday 22nd April, 12:00-13:00
  • Friday 24th April, 12:00-13:00

Please sign up in advance to take part in these sessions. You can sign up by completing this form. Once you sign up for a session you will recieve a Google Calendar invite which will include the link to join the group video call.
