About HEAR

If you are an undergraduate student, you will receive a Higher Education Achievement Report as your university transcript, free of charge.

The HEAR gives you official evidence of all your university learning and experience - extra-curricular achievements included.

The HEAR is a nationally standardised document, so employers and other universities know about it too.

Your official HEAR will be issued to you via our secure online ShARe (Sheffield Authorised Records) system. It is updated after every main examination period.

This means you can share your HEAR with employers and others to demonstrate your achievements, even before you have graduated.

You can also view what's in your HEAR so far via a live preview on MUSE. Click on:

This is useful to show your tutor or a Careers adviser, when reflecting on your personal development and planning what you want to achieve next.

One of your next steps might be to plan to get recognition for an extra-curricular activity, to help you gain new experience or further evidence of your skills in a particular area. The University of Sheffield currently verifies over 200 extra-curricular activities. We publish these in an online database, which also tells you what you need to do to qualify for HEAR recognition.
