Immigration Advice Sessions
The University of Sheffield has trained immigration specialists to assist you with your questions. Please do not take the advice of your friends or other members of staff within the University as their knowledge and experience may not be up to date.
Our Immigration Advisers run advice sessions on a daily basis for quick queries. We can see a maximum of 6 students in an hour.
Please remember this is a "first come first served service" (subject to availability) and if you wish to have a guaranteed place on our advice session then we advise you to book in advance.
IMPORTANT: you MUST arrive 10 minutes prior the start of the advice session, for example, if the advice session starts at 10am, then you must arrive 9:50am and report to the reception of the Student Support & Guidance.
Please bring your passport and / or BRP, and any other paperwork with you if you have a question about your visa.
Our advice session service runs at the following times:
•Monday 12 noon - 1.00pm
•Tuesday 2.00pm - 3.00pm
•Wednesday 09.00am - 10.00am
•Thursday 2.00pm - 3.00pm
•Friday 10.00am - 11.00am
If your question is more complex, you can book an individual appointment to see an Adviser. Please email us with details of your query and if appropriate, we will book an appointment with an Adviser. If you wish to have your visa application checked, you must book a visa extension appointment.
Our service is extremely busy. If you have a question about immigration and UK visas, please read the information on our webpages before contacting us. It is likely that you will be able to find an answer to your questions quickly and easily. If you do need to contact us, it is useful if you have already read our information so that you are able to understand our answers more easily.
Please inform us as soon as possible if you have any individual requirements or if there are any issues we should be aware of because of a disability. This will help us to ensure that we can support you as best as we can when you are using our services.
