Examination Results and Resits

Results will be released 2pm on Friday 8th September 2017

If you are in the UK on a student visa, your results might have an impact on your student visa. The information on this page is for Tier 4 (General) Student visa holders.

You must make yourself aware of the immigration rules that place restrictions on the amount of time you can study in the UK on a student visa

You must read the information below that relates to your results. We strongly recommend that you use our self-help tools to help you fully understand what you must do next.

Continuing Undergraduate Students

Your result is F (Fail)

If you register externally for re-sits, Home Office visa regulations say that you cannot remain in the UK to wait for your re-sit examinations. You must leave the UK as soon as possible. The University will inform the Home Office that you will be re-sitting and have been advised to leave the UK whilst waiting for the re-sit examinations. The Home Office will curtail (cancel) your visa. You must apply for a new visa to return to the UK for the re-sit.

If you leave the UK you should retain evidence to prove the date on which you left (e.g. flight tickets and boarding cards, passport stamps showing that you left the UK and/or returned to another course). This evidence may be useful if you wish to study in the UK in the future.

If you register internally for modules in the autumn and spring semester, immigration regulations allow you to stay in the UK. You must apply for a new visa before your current Tier 4 permission expires. You must read information about ‘academic progression’ as this will determine whether you can apply for your new visa from inside or outside the UK.

Your result is FN (Fail)
