Personal Finance

Classroom module

For the past five years the Personal Finance module has served as a useful resource for many of our students. We believe making sound financial decisions is an essential life skill and that's why we think the module can be of benefit to all our students.

In taking the module, you will learn how to budget effectively and understand much more about the mysteries of the financial world including debt management, mortgages and the tax system. Through workshop activities and case studies you will be able to confidently take control of your own finances.

The module is facilitated by an independent financial adviser and takes place over a Friday (6-8pm) and Saturday (10am-4pm) each semester. Alongside these sessions, you will be required to submit a portfolio for our financial adviser to assess. If successful in passing the course, you will receive a certificate of completion and this can go towards your Sheffield Graduate Award.

Please note, that in order to complete the module, you must attend both the Friday & Saturday session.

The dates of the next session will be in November 2017. If you would like to attend please email personalfinancemodule@sheffield.ac.uk
