University accommodation

In University accommodation you will be living with fellow new students close to campus. You can choose your room type and location and you will always have a bedroom to yourself.

We offer accommodation for students with families and additional support requirements. For more information, please visit the page below.

Private accommodation

Where you wish to move into private accommodation in Sheffield, our Smart Move service can assist you by ensuring your accommodation and landlord meet our requirements.

Travelling to Sheffield

Pre-departure tuberculosis screening

You may be required to provide evidence of a tuberculosis (TB) test as part of your visa application. Please visit the page below to find out whether you require a TB certificate.

Where you require a certificate, you must carry the following in your hand luggage:

  • Your medical certificate (issued within 3 months of arriving in the UK).
  • A report in English of a recent chest x-ray, taken within 6 months of your course date.

Student mentors

Our Student Mentors are volunteer second or third year undergraduate students who have undergone training to offer support and ease your transition into University life.

You can apply for a Student Mentor during your online pre-registration or any time during your first semester.

Our New Students Facebook page allows you to meet your potential housemates, people on your course and other new students starting in September.
