Orientation 2020 is a programme of events, information sessions and community-building activities to help you settle in quickly to your new life in Sheffield.

University welcome meeting

During intro week you'll be invited to attend a University welcome meeting which will outline the opportunities available to you throughout your studies. Dates and times are updated on the page below.

Departmental welcome meeting

Your academic department will also run a welcome meeting where they'll tell you more about the department and your module choices. The date and time of your meeting will be emailed to you, as well as on the iSheffield app.

Careers and employability

The Careers Service provides expert and impartial support to all students with their personal and career development.

During your time at university you will develop a wide range of skills through your course, your work experience and extracurricular activities. You can reflect on and record these using mySkills.

The service provides guidance in finding part time work and placements, and transition to graduate employment and further study.

We understand there's a lot of information to take in when you first use the Library, so to make things easier we’ll be on hand to help you ‘Get Started’. You can book onto a session now.

301 Academic Skills Centre

Level up your skills with 301

The 301 Academic Skills Centre provides opportunities for you to develop the essential academic and study skills which underpin your learning at University.

The 301 'Level Up Your Skills' resources are there to support you in developing the skills and confidence to make a positive start on your course, and help you transition to University level study. Find out more via:

The Chaplaincy Centre

Our Chaplaincy is open to all students.

Chaplaincy brunch

Join members of the Chaplaincy team online for a relaxed chat over brunch, every term-time Wednesday between 10:30-11:30am. If you can't make the whole hour, just drop in when you can.
