Elevate support during Covid 19

The University of Sheffield has suspended face-to-face teaching from Monday 16th March 2020, and all teaching will move online. Please refer to the Coronavirus Information & Advice page for the latest updates.

We are currently updating our support and guidance for remote teaching in September. If you have any feedback or insights to help shape this support, please email elevate@sheffield.ac.uk.

Support for staff

  • One to one teaching support appointments

For individual advice on any aspect of your teaching including digital learning, you can book a 30 minute consultation. These sessions are conducted online via Blackboard Collaborate. This page also allows you to book appointments to talk to the Digital Learning Team, or to discuss any issues regarding LTPRS.

  • Support for departments

Support for departments/programme teams regarding any aspect of your programme. We can provide bespoke online workshops or consultations. Complete the request form here.

  • Developing Employability in Programmes

Careers Consultants are available to work with you to develop and embed employability within your programme. Contact your department's Careers Consultant for details. Resources to support departments will also go live on the Elevate website soon.

Support for students
  • 301 Academic Skills Centre

301 Academic Skills Centre has moved 1:1 appointments and workshops for both study skills and maths and statistics (MASH) online. Full details on the online offer can be found here.

We are working to further develop our online materials to best support students in transitioning to online study and assessment and will be continuing to add content over the coming weeks.

  • Careers support

Careers appointments for students and graduates are available remotely by phone or Google Meet. Refer students to Career Connect to book an appointment. We are also offering a programme of online career skills workshops - see Career Connect events pages for details; and our website and online courses are accessible for students who want to make the most of this time to consider their career plan.

  • Student Guidance for Online Teaching

The Digital Learning Team have created guidance to help students with online teaching activity, and making the most of digital learning tools and systems.
