Support for Curriculum Reviews and Development of New Programmes
If you are planning a curriculum review or developing a new programme, Elevate can provide workshops and follow up support to work with you through the design process.
Elevate Curriculum Design Workshops
Elevate can facilitate the following two workshops:
- An initial workshop with your core programme team to establish the programme aims, learning outcomes, key themes and overall ethos.
- A two hour Curriculum Design workshop (once the above have been established). This brings together everyone who is involved in the programme (teaching staff, student reps, programme administrator, employers (if possible / relevant). The outcomes are a storyboard of the student learning journey through the programme and an action plan for developing the detail of modules and getting the programme approved. Relevant professional services attend the workshop (typically APO, Careers, Digital Learning, Library, ELTC). They can then provide ongoing support in specific areas.
The workshop is informed by UCL’s widely adopted ABC Learning Design. This is an approach based on Diana Laurillard’s six learning types. Using the ABC approach, you construct a ‘storyboard’ of your module or programme, mapping out where students engage in the different learning types, and the activities that are used to support them. Ideally the workshops are carried out face to face but we have adapted them for home-working during the Covid pandemic.
Please get in touch and we can discuss how these can work best for your programme / department by emailing the Elevate Team.
