Advice regarding adverse weather conditions

8 November 2019

The University is open as normal today. However, please do check for travel and road disruptions before setting off and take extra care on your journey.

Dear colleagues

An amber weather warning is in place for rain in South Yorkshire today. Flooding is affecting some roads and transport services.

The University is open and all services are operating as usual.

However, in times of adverse weather conditions, and/or when the usual forms of transport are unavailable, staff are advised to monitor the situation carefully (see travel and transport links below) and discuss any concerns and alternative arrangements with their line manager. The safety of our staff is paramount.

For more information regarding the University's policy and guidance on adverse weather conditions, please see https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/hr/guidance/leave/adverse.

Should the weather conditions worsen to become severe and dangerous, the University may close and we will update you promptly.

Best wishes
