Our University signs new agreement with the University of Ghana
Our University has signed an agreement to strengthen research collaboration with the University of Ghana.
A delegation of University staff recently travelled to Accra to sign a University-wide Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of fostering research collaborations, particularly through the Global Challenges Research Fund.
Professor Dave Petley, Vice-President for Research and Innovation, Dr Malcolm Butler, Director of Global Engagement and Dr Robert Akparibo from the School of Health and Related Research visited the University of Ghana in October to foster these new links.
The delegation visited the departments of Computer Science, Engineering, Public Health and Archaeology and International Programmes at the University of Ghana.
Professor Dave Petley said: "The University of Sheffield and the University of Ghana have had a close relationship for several years because we are both members of the Worldwide Universities Network.
"I am delighted to have signed this agreement, as a sign of our firm commitment to a partnership with The University of Ghana, and to be setting up a joint seed funding agreement to support the exchange of idea between our universities."
