New resources for staff who work with alumni

Susanna Chiu

To support colleagues who work with alumni (graduates) of the University, the Development, Alumni Relations & Events (DARE) team has put together a series of web pages and resources to share their advice and expertise.

New resources for staff who work with alumni

On the new web pages you will find a series of pages broken down into Alumni Relations, Fundraising, and Events – each providing guidance and support for that area:

Alumni Relations

This section gives details on the information the team hold on alumni and how they can use this to help you contact your graduates. They also have information on organising reunion type events, and details on how you can engage alumni in volunteering activities with your current students.

The University was founded on philanthropy, and the continued generosity of alumni and friends allows us to provide scholarships to students, support research, as well as making grants to clubs, societies, and departments. This section gives details on what to do about donations and how to organise your own community fundraising.

The Events team organise strategic University events such as graduation, Festival of the Mind, and a whole other range of activities to share the University’s work. They can provide you with advice and guidance for putting on these types of events.

Meet the team

If you are not aware of DARE or just want a refresher, the team is organising a session for you to come and learn about the work they do and the support they can offer to you.

This is taking place on Monday 15 May, in the Council Room in Firth Court. Starting at 10am, the talk will last for around 90 minutes, and refreshments will be available beforehand and after while DARE staff are on hand to answer your questions.

Sign up to DARE talks by Monday 8 May
