Our University wins Client of the Year in the Education Estates awards
Our University has been awarded ‘Client of the Year’ at this year’s Education Estates awards, with a submission centred around Estates and Facilities Management’s focus on partnerships and the development of our public spaces.
Our success in this category hinged on the relationships we develop and maintain with students, staff, our local community and the organisations we work with on developing our campus. It also detailed the ongoing work to deliver our ten-year campus masterplan, with particular focus on the transformation of public spaces such as Leavygreave Road - making areas like this greener and safer, and improving links with Sheffield city centre.
Keith Lilley, director of Estates and Facilities Management & IT, said: “Improvements to public spaces are at the heart of our masterplan and this award is a fantastic recognition of the achievements so far.
“I’m very grateful to our partners at the Sheffield City Region Investment Fund who contributed to this success by providing 30 per cent of the funding for the investments on Leavygreave Road, and to Sheffield City Council for their support in helping us deliver these great results. Thanks are also due to our academic colleagues for contributing their specialist expertise to the design process.
“We know that putting the best team together for every job is vital to our continuous improvement – I’m delighted that this award has acknowledged the hard work and commitment of the whole team.”
