Discover the future of product design and manufacturing at Develop3D Live 2019

We’re excited to be hosting Develop3D Live, a huge multi-stream conference and exhibition focusing on the latest advances in product development technologies, for the first time here in Sheffield. The day will be packed with engaging talks from leading designers, engineers and developers, with exhibitions and facility tours.

We’ve moved to Sheffield as there’s not only the automotive industry here, but all kinds of design, engineering and manufacturing – you only need to look at the companies in this region to realise that something very special is happening, and we’re proud to be a part of it.

Professor Mike Hounslow, Vice-President and Head of the Faculty of Engineering, will deliver the opening talk, highlighting our ground-breaking research advances and industry partnerships, inviting attendees to join tours of the facilities and labs within the Diamond Building. On Tuesday 16 April 2019, there will also be tours of the AMRC’s Design & Prototyping facility, Factory 2050 and the Royce Translational Centre.

This event promises to be the perfect opportunity to see, hear and touch the future of manufacturing technology, with four conference streams, over 60 exhibitors and several workshops covering additive manufacturing, design visualisation, 3D printing, product design and much more.

University exhibitors on the day include MAPP, the EPSRC Future Manufacturing Hub in Manufacture using Advanced Powder Processes, and Pitch-In, a collaborative project supporting adoption of Internet of Things technologies. Sheffield Universities’ Managing Directors’ Club - a joint initiative between both Sheffield universities - will also be at the conference presenting a joint front door for businesses looking to engage with the two universities.

The free full-day event will take place in the Octagon Centre on Wednesday 17 April 2019 and is open to all staff and students.
