How can Elevate help you enhance your teaching? Upcoming opportunities and events

To help you plan your development for the beginning of the new semester, the Elevate team would like to highlight their upcoming activities, events and important dates for your diary.

Give your feedback on the Learning and Teaching Conference

Thank you to everyone who attended the recent Learning and Teaching Conference. There is still time to give your feedback to help build on this year's success.

Access resources from the conference

Employability was a key theme of the conference. If you would like to continue the conversation about the skills and employability of students, the Careers Service have set up an Employability Community of Practice where members can share good practice, latest research and discuss ideas for ongoing employability development within programmes.

Student Observation of Teaching (SOOT) - last call for applications

Student Observation of Teaching (SOOT) is a great opportunity for students and staff from different disciplines to collaborate to enhance teaching at the University. Students are able to influence the development of learning and teaching, and you can gain feedback from a student perspective on any aspect of your practice you wish. Further information can be found here.

Apply to take part next semester (applications close noon on 23 January)

Recognising and celebrating excellence

The Senate Award Scheme for 2019-2020 is now open! The closing date for submissions is 5pm on Friday 20 March 2020. The Scheme rewards those who are inspirational or who demonstrate an exceptional contribution in the area of learning and teaching and/or supporting and enhancing the student learning experience.

Mentoring programme for learning and teaching

The Elevate mentoring programme for learning and teaching is centred around positive conversations with a neutral person (outside your department), who helps mentees to create a clear development plan, understand how to achieve what's expected of them in their role, and navigate their way through learning and teaching issues. To find out more about the scheme, sign up to the introductory workshop through the LMS.

Please note, you must attend the workshop to participate in the scheme.
