Teacher training opportunities at the ELTC
Whether you are an experienced English language teacher looking to develop professionally, a novice teacher looking to improve your practice, or have never taught before and want a change of career, the English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC) can offer a teaching qualification suitable for you.
All our courses leading to internationally-recognised Cambridge Assessment English teaching qualifications will improve your teaching knowledge and skills, help you build your confidence and enable you to progress in your English language teaching career.
CELTA is an initial English language teaching qualification for people with little or no previous teaching experience. It provides you with essential skills, knowledge and hands-on teaching practice and is ideal for recent graduates, those who want to change career or teachers who want to gain a formal qualification.
We offer a variety of different course lengths and modes of delivery, including in-person, blended and fully online.
TKT can be taken at any stage in a teacher's career and is also suitable for those who have not yet started teaching. It can be used as a good introduction to teaching English as a foreign language, to consolidate existing knowledge or to prepare for more advanced teaching qualifications like CELTA. It is ideal for people who want to prove their knowledge of teaching with a globally recognised certificate.
From October to December we will be offering an 8-week fully online, part-time preparation course. In addition to the online interactive content, there is also a 90-minute live session once a week.
DELTA is one of the best-known and most popular advanced English language teaching qualifications in the world and its modular format makes it a flexible way for experienced teachers working in any context to progress further in their careers. Its advanced blend of theory and practical skills makes it ideal for those wanting to update their teaching knowledge and improve their practice.
Our fully online, part-time Module One course will run from October 2020 to May 2021. The asynchronous content in each unit includes a variety of interactive task-types and there will also be a synchronous session of 90 minutes every two weeks as well one-to-one tutorials.
Our part-time, blended Module Two course, in partnership with NILE, will run from September 2020 to May 2021. For more information about the course content and structure, please see the NILE website.
Our fully online, part-time Module Three course will run from November 2020 to May 2021. The online content will be complemented by concurrent tutor support and one-to-one tutorials.
