Work Abroad with Erasmus+
Have you ever considered working abroad? Applications for the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Scheme are now open for the 2018/19 academic year.
Our University has benefitted from the rich experiences of Erasmus+ over the last 30 years, and now it’s your chance to see how you can develop your career through this programme.
Erasmus+ is an exciting opportunity for both academic and professional services staff to experience working abroad. You have the option of choosing a programme from two days to two months, with the wide range of our partner institutions across Europe.
Funding options are available to cover a significant part of your trip, with the European Commission covering travel costs and living expenses during your time abroad.
The deadline for applications is Friday 2 November.
Our staff, who have experienced the scheme can’t say enough about all the enriching experiences they had while working abroad. It's a great opportunity to make international contacts with colleagues from other countries and experience other cultures.
Professor Sue Vice, from our School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics said of her visit:
“My Erasmus+ visits have led to some exciting opportunities. I was asked to peer review an article, invited to take part in a conference and I made some great contacts at the institutions I visited.”

If applications exceed funding available, priority will be given to staff who:
- Have not previously participated in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility programme;
- Would otherwise not have an opportunity for international travel;
- Have a strategic agenda for undertaking the mobility;
- Work in departments which operate successful and reciprocal Erasmus+ exchanges.
- We encourage all our staff to take advantage of this great opportunity.
