Faculty Director of Operations appointments
Following a comprehensive, cross-University recruitment process, appointments to the five vacant Faculty Director of Operations roles have now been confirmed. The roles became vacant following the promotion or departure of the previous post-holders and so a single University recruitment process to all five roles was undertaken, led by Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gill Valentine, and including the five Faculty Vice-Presidents and the Director of Academic Services.
The five appointed Faculty Directors are:

Nicola has been confirmed in post after a period as interim Faculty Director of Operations. Prior to joining the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Nicola was Deputy Faculty Director of Operations in the Faculty of Science and has previously held management roles at Sheffield Hallam University and Sheffield City Council.

Frances joins the University from TDX Group, where she is Head of Client Implementation (International). Frances previously worked at the University of Nottingham for a number of years where she undertook a range of roles including School Manager, Head of Strategic Projects and finally Head of the Executive Project Management Office.
Medicine, Dentistry and Health – Michelle Nuttall.
Michelle joins the University from Kirklees Council where she is Head of Transformation. She has extensive experience in local government with a number of Local Authorities as well as senior management experience at Ernst and Young.
Science – Nina Cardinal.
Nina has been confirmed in post after a period as interim Faculty Director of Operations, having previously undertaken the role of Deputy Faculty Director of Operations within the Faculty. Nina has previously held a number of management roles at Tata Steel, rising to the role of Technical Director before joining the University.
