Flexible virtual learning opportunities
Flexible virtual learning is more important than ever in the current circumstances. The University has a range of resources available to support your development, designed to fit around you and your other commitments.
Whether you’re focused on developing specific knowledge, skills and behaviours to help you perform in your role or simply curious to discover new interests, we have a vast selection of resources to support you.
Futurelearn opportunity for staff and students
Anyone registered with a @sheffield.ac.uk or @shef.ac.uk email address can get free upgrades, certificates and perpetual access to course materials on a wide number of Futurelearn courses if they enrol on them before the end of September.
All you need to do is connect your University email address with your Futurelearn account using this Futurelearn Campus link and verify the link in an email. You don’t need to already have a Futurelearn account and you can connect your account even if you didn't enrol with a University email in the first place.
Whether you require support to help with your teaching, or just looking for personal development opportunities, there are a wide range of courses available under this offer, including courses created by the University and wider institutions.
How to - a people development series of modules
Earlier this year, colleagues in HR conducted a People Development review and are releasing new learning and development modules as part of a how to series.
Themes include wellbeing, managing change and complexity, and managing remote working and the first module is about how to have a wellbeing conversation. This module is particularly aimed at colleagues who manage or supervise others and will focus on the key skills, behaviours and attributes required to have a wellbeing conversation.
The next module will focus on how to manage teams, wherever they are, and will launch by September.
