Join Professor Wyn Morgan at The Big University Bake
On Thursday 22 February, Martha Collison, the youngest ever contestant on the Great British Bake Off will be visiting the University of Sheffield to judge The Big University Bake; a baking competition open to staff and students.
Professor Wyn Morgan is one of the competitors and he commented "I'm hugely excited to be part of the Big University Bake, it is all in aid of a wonderful cause and I can`t wait to get cracking".
The closing date for entries was Friday 9 February but you can still get free tickets for the cake sale and announcement of winners!
Winners will be announced at a special Q&A, 4pm-5pm on Thursday 22 February 2018 in the Discovery Rooms, Level 5, Students’ Union. The Q&A will be hosted by TV chef and native Yorkshireman Joe Hurd who has previously hosted BBC’s Saturday Kitchen Tickets for the Q&A are free and available on Eventbrite.
Cakes from the competition will be sold in order to raise money for the University’s Sheffield Scanner Appeal, with donations also being taken at the Q&A. The University is raising £2 million to establish a ground-breaking MRI-PET facility which will transform our understanding of serious conditions like cancer, dementia, heart and lung diseases, MND, Parkinson's and stroke and the way we treat them in the future.
Later in the evening, Martha will be hosting An Evening with Martha Collison at the University’s INOX restaurant, featuring a delicious three course meal made from Martha’s own recipes with a Q&A.
