Thank you for giving a warm welcome to prospective students
A big thanks to everyone involved in the postgraduate Open Day on Friday 28 April and the undergraduate Open Campus on Saturday 29 April.
Professor Wyn Morgan, Vice-President for Education, said: “Thank you to everyone involved in both days. Visitor feedback so far is very positive with fantastic comments about the organisation and friendly welcome. I really value your commitment and enthusiasm for supporting the recruitment of prospective students."
Feedback surveys have been sent out to visitors and we look forward to hearing about their experiences. Our Open Campus event has already received some positive comments, including:
"No faults – we left feeling very reassured about my future life at university and very confident with everything."
"There was lots of information on offer and the open campus allowed you to explore whatever you wanted to. There were lots of students and staff to make getting around very easy. The stalls and day was very well organised."
"The day was fantastic! it was perfect. I don't think it could have been done any better, teachers to students came voluntarily on a Saturday for us. It was very helpful."
"Absolutely lovely staff! Lots of friendly and enthusiastic students and loads of honest and useful information."
Open Campus was a celebration of the fact that back in March this year, we were voted number one in the Russell Group for student experience for the fourth year running. Our Students’ Union was also voted number one in the UK for the ninth year in a row.
Attendees included offer-holders who have not yet made a decision on their first choice university, students who have confirmed Sheffield as their firm or insurance choice, as well as those who have not yet completed their applications.
Colleagues from across campus collaborated to organise departmental talks, interactive exhibitions, information hubs and tours.
