Thank you to all colleagues helping to make our open day a success this weekend

Open days at the University

Thank you to everyone who gave their time at this Saturday's Open Day, the penultimate pre-application undergraduate open day for 2019/20 entry.

Thousands of prospective undergraduate students and their parents and guardians visited Sheffield this weekend to get a feel for the city and University life. Having the opportunity to visit the campus before applying plays a key part in helping prospective students decide which university to attend.

Senior UK Student Recruitment Officer, David Broomby from Student Recruitment and Admissions, said: "I always get an overwhelmingly positive response from the staff I speak to during an open day. Staff and student ambassadors were on hand to help guide them through their day.

“The days are a great way to connect with potential students, but not only that, they give staff the opportunity to work with various teams that they might not otherwise get to do so in their usual day-to-day roles. There is a real sense of togetherness on the day and can be a really enjoyable experience."

Alongside a range of tours giving visitors the opportunity to explore our campus, there were 13 ‘Information Hubs’ spread strategically around the University and city offering directions and support to visitors.

Thank you to all staff across across the University who contribute to making these days a huge success, both those supporting the build up to the events as well as those engaging with visitors on the day.
