Celebrating summer graduation 2017

graduation 2015

This week (17–21 July 2017) we celebrate summer graduation; the culmination of the hard work and dedication of colleagues from all areas of the University.

A big thank you and good luck to everyone involved from the people making our campus look stunning for students and visitors, to catering teams, everyone working behind the scenes and of course to those who have taught and supported our students through their studies.

We will be out and about on campus speaking to colleagues, students and parents about their experiences and will be sharing short videos via @sheffunistaff and @sheffielduni throughout the week.

Wendy Birtwistle from Mechanical Engineering is volunteering as a graduation marshall. She said: "I am part of a team that ensure the smooth running of the graduation ceremonies. In my normal role I spend a great deal of time working alongside engineering students as they work to complete their final year projects. Working at the graduation ceremonies allows me to share in the celebration of all their hard work. Even with students that I haven't had any direct contact with, the joy of the day for them and their families is infectious and makes it a rewarding experience."

You can follow all the week's activities with #ShefUniGrad and our professional photographer will be posting pictures on the University Instagram account
