Changes to mailing lists on myAnnouncement Composer
myAnnouncement Composer is a self-service email composer available through Muse for the sharing of information relating to University business.
You automatically receive emails that are sent via the all-staff mailing list but you have to opt-in to the announce and volunteer lists.
To make sure that you receive important information as well as messages about services and events that play a major role in the experience of working at the University, we are making some changes to the types of messages that can be sent on the different mailing lists on myAnnouncement Composer.
The main change is the addition of certain types of email approved for the all-staff mailing list. These include: key benefits and opportunities available to all staff, job opportunities and key corporate events.
The myAnnouncement Composer mailing lists
- All-staff: used to send University-wide information to all staff, including strategic or critical communications, important updates and information on incidents and safety concerns, key benefits and opportunities available to all staff, job opportunities, and key corporate events.
- Announce: an opt-in service used for marketing information, including smaller events, paid-for events, competitions, promotions, and discretionary paid for services.
- Volunteers: an opt-in service for opportunities to take part in research projects or volunteering
These updated guidelines continue to be compliant with GDPR which came into force in May 2018.
