Quick update: University of Sheffield Research Institutes
The new University of Sheffield Research Institutes will go live after Easter
“Late last year I shared with you our plans to develop four new University of Sheffield Research Institutes. These will be flagship interdisciplinary institutes designed to address some of our most pressing global social, economic and health challenges. They build on some of our acknowledged areas of research excellence and will bring together people from across all the faculties to maximise our existing strengths and support new ambitions.
“This is an exciting project that will help us attract large scale funding, strengthen our national and international standing and expand our translational research. The institutes will focus our work and allow us to make a greater impact with our world-leading research.
“Over the next few weeks I will be hosting workshops with people involved in the institutes to develop our plans in time to go live after Easter.
"I know that you will likely have many questions about what the institutes mean to you and your work and I will aim to keep you informed as our plans progress. In the meantime if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch by emailing my colleague Debbie Cockerill at: D.Cockerill@sheffield.ac.uk. Thank you for your support; it is much appreciated."
