Your vision for Sheffield
President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Koen Lamberts, introduces plans for a university-wide discussion about our future direction.
"Since I started at the University in November, I have visited almost every department and spent time talking and listening to colleagues and students. I have also met with alumni and with many of the University’s key partners, both in the UK and abroad. I want to thank everyone for taking the time to meet with me and for being so honest and open. You have really helped me understand the University better.
"I have now developed a proposal for the future direction of the University, with the support of my colleagues in the University Executive Board (UEB) and their teams. The proposal sets out a vision and strategy for the University that is aligned with our values. It is important to me that we now have a university-wide discussion about this, with the aim of seeking your feedback, ideas and suggestions, in the hope that we will be able to reach agreement on the direction to take.
"We will be holding a number of town hall sessions in October and November, where you can share your thoughts. There will also be other opportunities to take part in the discussion. I will share the proposal with you in the summer. At that time, we will also be able to provide further details of how you can get involved.
"I sincerely hope you will contribute and play a part in shaping our University’s future."
With best wishes,
Koen Lamberts, President and Vice-Chancellor
