Your experiences of volunteering during the coronavirus pandemic
To celebrate National Volunteers' Week, 1-7 June, we are partnering with our colleagues in Alumni Relations and the Students’ Union to put together video clips of student, staff and alumni volunteers sharing their experiences of volunteering during the current coronavirus pandemic.
The videos will showcase and celebrate volunteers' hard work and the sense of community, especially in the context of the coronavirus and how this is bringing people together.
You may have seen the video Our Student Societies During Lockdown with clips from students talking about what their societies have been up to during lockdown, and we're hoping to create something similar.
A short video on your phone will be fine and good enough quality. It could be talking about your volunteering or answering some of the following questions:
- Where you're volunteering, what you're doing (any footage or photos doing the volunteering would be great too), and how this will help
- Why are you doing it - what motivated you to get involved?
- What has the result been? Have things improved? What has the volunteering resulted in?
- Why are you passionate about volunteering? What do you gain from it? Why is it particularly important for you to be doing this in the current situation?
If you are interested in getting involved, get in touch with the Internal Communications Team by Wednesday 20 May and send us your video clip via email.
We look forward to hearing your stories!
