Teaching Technician in the Department of Biomedical Science
"After a three-year spell at Sheffield Hallam University, I started work here; my role was to setup a new teaching space, geared towards the development of practical research skills in Biomedical Science.
"I have now spent a very enjoyable three semesters developing myself, my job and my facility.
"Being relatively fresh in my career as a technician, I’m still relishing the development opportunities that are all around me; learning professional skills as much as the fine details of the techniques and technology of my field. Behind all of this however, is the core motivation of supporting the student experience.
"I enjoy interacting and connecting with students, providing a friendly and professional service, quite often being that much needed bridge between the student and academic. My job satisfaction comes from seeing happy students learning new skills, leading to their graduation.
"There’s nothing better than seeing someone’s confidence grow as a result of my work."
