Water Engineer, Estates and Facilities Management (EFM)

"As a water engineer, my primary role is to ensure water quality to all buildings within the University main campus and residential areas.

"Whilst food for consumption is treated with caution when buying and preparing, water by many is taken for granted. We in the EFM water section work hard and diligently to ensure drinking water is only of the best quality. We do this by ensuring the system is in the best condition and by taking regular samples for laboratory analysis to control bacteria levels, and that chemical and mineral composition are within statutory limits.

"In addition we also provide guidance and maintenance to specialist water systems such as the swimming pool, throughout many of the University's specialist areas.
Through our duty of care we maintain detailed records of all actions carried out within the water team and provide total transparency by sharing our records via the University record documentation system."
