Pitch your business idea and win £1000 with USE's Evolve Competition
We love ideas here at USE. In fact, we love them so much that we’re offering £1000 to the person who can come up with the best idea for a business or product.
It’s not about writing a boring business plan either. We want you to show off all your initiative and ingenuity, unleash your creativity, and get rewarded for it.
So, this year, we’ve come up with something that will do just that. Get ready for Evolve Competition!
It looks something a bit like this: Video > Vote > Pitch > Win!
Don’t worry if you've never done anything like this before. USE will be running workshops and providing lots of resources to give everyone the best possible chance of winning.
First of all, you need to register for the competition on our website (we can’t give £1000 to an unidentified life form). Then, you film and submit a 60 second video of your idea to our voting platform.
This is where you can get really creative! You can do it as an animation, a piece to camera, a role play, a music video… whatever you think is the best way to communicate your idea.
Next, get everyone voting: friends, family, partners, exes, random people you meet on the bus, Great Auntie Nora and all of her cats... you get the idea.
The ten most popular videos go through to the judges who will pick five finalists. You’ll get to pitch your idea to a panel of judges (Dragon’s Den style) and then you’ll be invited to a swanky formal dinner where the winner will be announced.
Finally, here’s the best bit… the winner receives £1000 cash to spend on whatever they like!
Remember - this category is for business CONCEPTS (i.e. you are NOT already a registered business). We also have a Startup category, so if you have a registered and trading business you could win £5000 to invest in it! Check out the website for more info on this category as it’s slightly different.
Both categories are open to all University of Sheffield students and University of Sheffield alumni who have graduated within the last five years.
To find out more about the competition or to register for the competition please visit USE's website.
Thanks and we hope to see you get involved!
