Wednesday Workshops and Stress Reduction Sessions at the Counselling Service
Every semester, the University Counselling Service provide a range of workshops and sessions to help you stay calm and focused whilst at university.
Stress Reduction and Mindfulness Sessions start again on Tuesday 27th of January. Give your mind and body a rest from all the stress of exams and come and experience the calming environment of these popular sessions. Students report feeling calmer after the sessions and you can learn how to incorporate Mindfulness into every aspect of your life.
The sessions are facilitated by Safina Webb who works as a therapist at the Counselling Service and the session’s takes place every Tuesday lunchtime from 1.05pm – 1.50pm during term time in Semester 2. You don’t have to book a place, you can just turn up to register from 1pm at the venue, which is the 301 Student Skills and Development Centre on Glossop Road.
Our Wednesday workshops are one-off events that normally last up to three hours. Topics cover a range of personal and professional skills such as: how to cope with stress, assertiveness skills, public speaking, coping with criticism, "Keep Calm and Carry On" workshops, "How to Make Friends and Feel Good" workshops, and leadership skills.
Our workshops are interesting, engaging and fun. Facilitators create a supportive learning environment where students can share common experiences and learn skills together. Come along, learn some skills and share your experiences with other like-minded students.
It’s easy to book a place, just turn up at the venue on the day of the workshop. Registration opens 15 minutes before the workshops begin and we offer 16 places on a first come basis.
95% of students who have attended our workshops said they would recommend them to a friend.
