How did you find the Summer School, academically?

I had two lectures per day Monday - Thursday with each lecture lasting 2 hours 45 minutes. I had to give presentations in both classes which were assessed, neither of my courses had a formal examination. The lectures were quite interactive, with the lecturer asking questions and prompting discussions. There was also quite a lot of group work involved in the classes.

What extra-curricular activities did you take part in?

Every Friday was a day for cultural activities. In the first week we had a tour of the Old City in Seoul, directed by a local resident tour guide. The next week we attended a Nanta Show performance, which is a popular form of Korean entertainment. The third week's cultural activity was a visit to Everland theme park. In the final week we participated in a taekwondo demonstration followed by a Korean BBQ party at the university's second campus.

What was the accommodation like?

A twin dorm room on campus, in an all female block.

Did the experience enhance your international outlook?

I increased my international network of friends, I have a better understanding of a new international culture, I have developed a better understanding of my own strengths and weaknesses, The experience has increased my interest in international travel

How would you describe the experience overall and why?

An excellent experience both socially and academically, that far surpassed my expectations. I got to experience a different way of learning, both due to a new environment but also due to international lecturers. It was also interesting to see how students from international universities approach their learning, as I could learn from them. It was rewarding socially as I got to explore an exciting city with people from all over the world.
