Scholarship Challenge

We're looking for talented students with the potential to influence the world around them for the better. If this is you, just answer the following question for your chance to be awarded one of 25 scholarships of a year’s free accommodation at the University of Sheffield:

Alumni Fund scholarships

We're offering 150 Alumni Fund scholarships worth £3,600 each for home students starting their studies in September 2018. These are entirely funded by donations from alumni and friends of the University from around the world.

You'll need to be eligible for a maintenance loan from Student Finance and have a household income of below £50,000. You must also have received an academic offer to study a full-time undergraduate course at the University of Sheffield starting in September 2018.

Global Scholars

We'll pay your air fare to an overseas summer school, as well as tuition and accommodation while you are there.

To be in with a chance, you have to get A*AA in your A Levels (30 awards are available) or you'll need to have a household income of £40,000 or less (another 30 awards are on offer).

To apply for this scholarship, you need to have received an academic offer to study a full-time undergraduate course at the University of Sheffield starting in September 2018.

Lots of departments offer scholarships, some of them sponsored by industry. Contact the department running the courses you're interested in to find out if they are offering anything for students starting in your year.

Sports scholarships

Do you compete at an elite level in your  sport? Then you can apply. Our Elite Sports Performance Scheme (ESPS) gives athletes different levels of support, from free gym membership, to an annual £1,000 award. Each year, one first-year application is also selected to receive a year’s free accommodation, in lieu of a monetary award.
