Within this session, students will use the case study of reality TV to consider how we interpret data and how we create knowledge.

Looking at Reality TV through a social science lens: Why does it matter and what should change?

This session will run as a workshop. I will present some academic background context and then we will work to reflect on the benefits and problems of reality TV, as well as creating some recommendations for change. By the end of the session, we will have pitched new ideas for reality TV shows, which include construction of policies that improve existing ones. 

The format will include big group learning, independent reflections, and group discussion.
