School of Languages & Cultures - Russian Taster session
This taster session gives you an insight into studying Russian at university.
Russian Literature Speaks
This talk will explore how authors writing in Russian in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries have tried to incorporate the spoken word into their works - and how learning to listen to literature can make it one of the most powerful tools in developing both linguistic and cultural fluency, as well as being a source of deep pleasure in itself.
Examples will be provided in translation and in the original Russian.
When: Friday 26 March, 3.45pm - 5.15pm
Places available: 100
Age group: Year 12, Year 13, A Level, BTEC.
Please note: no prior knowledge of Russian required to participate.
