Information Commons: our all-in-one study space

Photo montage: The building; entry system; the café

Our Information Commons is a brand new, futuristic building that was born out of completely fresh thinking about learning resources for the 21st century student.

Open 24/7

Information Commons contains a whole range of study experiences within one spectacular location. And the great thing is, it's open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You just need your University ID card to get in.

Self-service technology gives you access to resources any time of day or night, and there are also staff available if you need assistance.

What's in it for me?

It's a fantastic space for independent study, and the fact that it's always open means you go when it suits you.

The latest IT resources are combined with library facilities and a range of study spaces.

Spread over six spacious levels, you'll find:

  • Over 1,300 study spaces
  • Wi-Fi (wireless) access, so bring your laptop
  • Fully networked PCs
  • Bookable rooms for individual or group study
  • Silent study areas
  • Comfy sofas for informal study and reading
  • Library resources – up to 100,000 volumes of reference and short-loan books
  • Access to the library's e-collections and journals

On the ground floor there's a 70-seat café with convenient kiosk computers, so you can check your email while grabbing a bite to eat.
